Search Tips
Enter any keyword that may help find your pest. It may be the name of a fruit (e.g. Guava), the name of a group of pests (e.g. Auger Beetle) or the name of a country or continent (e.g. Vietnam or Asia). You can submit a two or more word search by placing both words inside commas (eg. “New Zealand”) .
Here you can select from a range of topics that may help you find your pests or display for you a range of pests with particular attributes.
You do have to select an item for each category, just the categories relevant to your query. So for example, you may request just “Flies” from “South-east Asia”. Or you may provide more details in your query as ‘Flies’ that are pests in ‘Horticulture’ in particular on ‘Fresh Vegetables’ that occur in ‘South-east Asia’.
Note that you can click on the world map to choose a Bioregion.
Any of these methods will produce a PEST SPECIES LIST of one or more pest species.
Note that you can query on either Pests or Diseases in the Advanced Search form but not both in the same query.
Click “Email a Friend” to send a URL link. When you send an email from a search result web page, you will send a URL that not only directs the recipient to the PaDIL website but also replicates the query and returns the same results (including any updates or additional species) that you received to your query. It is a good way of sharing the results of a PaDIL search with anyone else.
