Length 3.0-5.5 mm. Head and pronotum black to piceous; elytra paler reddish brown clothed with yellow or grey pubescence; legs and antennal stem reddish. Dorsum finely, densely punctate. Club of male antennae stout, apical antennomere 2.5 times as long as 2 preceding combined, and pointed at end. Pronotum of male fully twice as wide as long.
