Colour black. Clypeus bidentate. Outer side of mandibles with two or three teeth. Frons with two tuberclcs or short horns or with a single median horn, in females this armature reduced or obsolete. Pronotum micropunctate, basal border usually obsolete across median third. Scutellum smooth. Punctures of elytra ocellate. Prosternal process high, apex truncated. Propygidium with dispersed stridulatory ridges, rarely forming distinct bands. Disc of pygidium bare or with very sparse setae. Anterior tibiae tridentate, usually with small accessorial teeth. Hind tibiae with two transversal carinae, apex truncated and with pointed and slender bristles. First joint of hind tarsi weakly dilated, anterior tarsi in males thickened, anterior claws asymmetrical.
