Adult

Length 1.8-2.4 mm. Elongate, ovate. Usually unicolorous yellow-brown, occasionally darker brown or with head and pronotum slightly darker than elytra; a black mutant is also known. Head mainly with punctures equal to about half or less of an eye facet diameter, rather irregular in shape, on frons generally separated by about 2 or 3 diameters, surface between microreticulate, punctures becoming larger and denser towards eyes and back of head where rugose. Setae about as long as two eye facets. Eyes moderately prominent, separated dorsally by 4.8-6.2 times breadth, less than half length of head. Genae more or less flat. Antenna about a third as long as body; antennae club segments of unequal size. Temple minute (about a third as long as eye facet), acute. Pronotum transverse; side usually shallowly curved but sometimes almost straight from anterior to posterior angle, neither strongly indented before anterior angle nor depressed laterally; anterior angles obtuse; puncturation on disc similar to that on frons of head, laterally becoming coarse and rugose. Elytra slightly more than one and one half units as long as broad; marginal rim very narrow, not appearing explanate; interstriae with 3 rows of setae apart from interstriae 1 (sutural) which has a single row.

Male

Genitalia: median lobe with narrow, rounded apex; parameres close together, basal half of paramere very narrow, apical half expanded laterally at apical third then tapered to apex, bearing one long apical seta, a shorter one near to it plus one at expansion.
