Female

Dark brown, apterous; antennae 8- or 9-segmented; sense cones on III and IV simple; ocelli absent, ocellar setae I present; head and thorax without long setae, prosternal ferna undivided; tergites and sternites with large marginal craspeda, tergite IX with 4 stout setae; sternites without discal setae, sternal craspeda with 7 lobes; tergites III-VII with discal seta 5 arising on the tergal margin; tarsi 2-segmented.

Male

Similar to female but sternite III with median glandular area opening on antecostal region; tergite IX medially with 2 pairs of stout thorn-like setae.

Larvae

Mature larva II 0.5-2.0 mm in length. Abdominal segment X never elongate and tubular; LARVAE I: pronotum usually with 6 pairs of setae, abdominal sternites III-VIII with one pair of setae each; LARVAE II: pronotum usually with 7 pairs of setae, abdominal sternites III-VIII with 3 pairs of setae each; antennal segment V much less than half as long as segment IV.

Propupae

Antennae relatively long, projecting forward and laterally or relaxed dorsally over the head; wing pads present or absent.

Pupae

Antennae reflexed dorsally over the head.
