Genus consists of small to medium sized bees (5-10mm), robust, largely lacking yellow markings in the female, in males yellow on clypeus; A. repetitum has ivory coloured tergal bands which are impunctate; lack carinae on pronotal lobe; T7 of male is not strongly exserted, its posterior margin as a median emargination between submedium teeth, sometimes with a medium tooth producing a tridentate condition; T6 lacks teeth.
