Body length 3-5 mm; dark brown to nearly black in colour, ridged elytra. Pronotum almost as long as elytra

To distinguish between:

Sitophilus granarius: Body length 3-5mm; Pronotum with oval punctures; elytra colour uniform

Sitophilus oryzae: Body length 2.3-3.5mm; Pronotum with round punctures; elytra colour with 4 distinct reddish-brown spots.
