Body length 2.2-2.4mm; colour yellowish brown to light red brown

Differs from X. ferrugineus with tubercles on elytral declivity small and weakly developed, none prominent as in X. ferrugineus;

Differs from X. perforans: Surface of eytral declivity shining and declivity strongly convex in X. perforans whereas in X. affinis surface of elytral declivity dull and shagreened abd declivity gently convex.

Differs from X. xylographus: Pronotum with posterior portion covered with a lace-like network (alutaceous) and dull; Declivity steep with teeth on first and third interspacers very small in X. xylographus; Pronotum with posterior portion smooth and shining, Declivity broadly sloping with teeth on first and third interspacers small but conspicuous in Xyleborus affinis.
