Adults are 13-14 mm long, dark brown with small yellow dots on head and thorax. Face and legs are yellow-orange in colour. The eyes are yellow with dark speckles and the abdomen has ivory and black markings under the abdomen.  Membranous, large, translucent, smoky- brown wings with reddish veins.
