Female body length c. 1cm. The wingless female adult body colour is dull brown; female body has a fat, rounded body.

Male wingspan c. 2 cm. The male forewings are dark brown and patterned forewings, while the hind wings are orange with a black border.

Masses of eggs are found on the female cocoon. See image
