Description

Monomorium pharaonis is native to west Africa and has successfully invaded areas on every continent except Antarctica (introduced into Asia, Australia, North, Central and South America, Europe, some islands in the Indian Ocean (including Madagascar) and the Pacific Ocean (including New Zealand and some islands in the Hawaiian and Galapagos archipelagoes)); the species is concentrated in tropical regions, but is also commonly found in temperate zones.
