Brachyhesma (Anomalohesma) scapata Exley, E.M. 1977. The Australian genus Brachyhesma (Apoidea: Colletidae) revised and reviewed. Australian Journal of Zoology Supplementary Series 53: 1–54 [39].

Type data: Holotype QM T7721 ?, Rainbow Beach Road about 30 miles NE Gympie, QLD.
 

The subgenus Anomalohesma is defined by:

  • Lower portion of frons and upper part of clypeus strongly protruding forward between antennal bases
  • Clypeus from in front a mere rim across lower end of face
  • Ventral portion of clypeus convex with no sign of a triangular plate
  • Scape much shorter than eye


Subgenus known from a single species scapata defined by antennal scapes swollen about 3x as long as wide.
