Medium or small in size, more or less wedge-shaped; colour primarily black but varies, including the colours orange, yellow, and red; pubescent; front convex, margin elevated behind labrum; antennae serrate or pectinate, third segment feebly wider than second, as long as fourth; pronotum narrowed anteriorly; posterior angles elongate, distinctly carinate; scutellum rounded; prosternal sutures double and excavated anteriorly; tarsi as long as tibiae, segments one to four gradually shorter, fifth long, ciliate beneath, simple; claws simple.
