Frons pitted or wrinkled, mesofrons bearing setulae. Legs blackish but fore femora reddish. Wings hyaline with a brown basicostal mark and one apically between the third and fourth veins. First posterior cell never closed. Marginal cell never much narrower than submarginal. Vertex rounded.
Larva
It is practically impossible to separate the saprophagous larvae of Otitidae from those of families having similar habits.
