Female

Idiosoma often elongate. Dorsal shields usually unornamented, sometimes longitudinally striate or canaliculated; stigmata close to setae v1. Dorsal setae smooth or slightly barbed; hysterosomal setae (except c2) usually shorter than sc2. Apodemes 2 obliquely slanted, not bifurcate anterolaterally; coxisternal plates III and IV continuous medially. Gnathosomal capsule subcircular to subquadrate, at least as wide as long; cheliceral levers enlarged, occupying most of anterior width of capsule; palpi short, convergent, appressed to capsule, and lack membranous elaborations apically. Spinelike subunguinal seta of tarsus I and unguinal seta u' of tarsi II and III split or truncate apically, not enlarged and clawlike.

Male

Dorsal setae smooth of slightly barbed; prodorsal seta sc2 usually much shorter than sc1, obliquely aligned longitudinally with other prodorsal setae. Sejugal apodeme continuous or weakened or interrupted medially. Coxisternal plates III with 2 pairs of setae. Femorogenu of leg IV often with a conspicuous, rounded flange.
