Adult

Fore wings four times as long as wide, outer and inner margins equal; R, stalked, but R5 arising from cell, and widely separated from R2+3+4. Hind wing of less than half the area of the fore wing, with M1 and 3d A lost. Wings more heavily scaled than in other genera.

Larva

Bearing black tufts contrasting with the pale ground; social on grape.
