Generally pale brown; antennal segment III pale at base and brown at apex, apex of all tibiae, and all tarsi yellow; major setae pale brown, terminal setae browner; antennae 8-segmented, segments III, IV and V about equal in length; segment III and IV with one and 2 sense cones, respectively; segments VII and VIII fairly closely united; ocelli usually reduce, rarely absent; major prenatal setae expanded apically; fore femora not enlarged, fore tarsus armed with a small tooth; forewings usually greatly reduced, scarcely visible, rarely fully developed. Pelta irregular, roughly semicircular; abdominal tergites II-VII usually without well developed sigmoid wing retaining setae; posterior pair on each of abdominal tergites III-VII of macropterae well developed and sigmoid. Setae b1 and b2 on abdominal tergite IX about 0.75 times as long as tube and expanded apically. tube less than twice as long as basal width.
Male
Slightly smaller than female; abdominal sternite VIII without glandular area; tergite IX B1 0.9 times as long as tube and expanded apically; B2 1.1 times as long as tube and finely pointed apically.
