Grey leaf spot, stalk and fruit spot. Leaf spots begin as small black dots, enlarging as circular to irregular, zonate lesions, up to 1 cm diam., grey or pale brown. Similar spots on fruit (siliqua) and oval spots on stalks. May cause damping-off when infected seed is sown.
Morphology
Conidiophores arising in groups of 2–10, pale greyish olive, up to 170 µm long, 6–11 µm thick, with one or more distinct conidial scars. Conidia single or occasionally in chains of up to 4, straight or slightly curved, obclavate, rostrate, 75–350 µm long (including rostrum), 20–30(–40) µm wide, pale or greyish olive, smooth or inconspicuously warted, (6–)11–15(–19) transverse septa, 0–8 longitudinal or oblique septa (sometimes 2 longitudinal septa in one segment), constricted at septa, basal scar obvious; beak is about ? to ½ length of conidium, unbranched, pale coloured, 5–9 µm thick, cylindrical.
