Disease

Leaf blotch. Indistinct, circular, reddish yellow discolouration on upper surface of leaf, with black mould growth on corresponding lower surface, up to 1.5 cm diam.

Morphology

Conidiophores emerging through stomata mainly on lower surface of leaf, but sometimes from upper surface on older lesions, in fascicles of up to 15, dark olivaceous, 50–425 × 4–7 µm. Conidia 20–45 × 7–14 µm, pale olivaceous, (1–)3(–5)-septate, occasionally with 1 longitudinal septum, smooth or minutely verrucose, clavate, straight or sometimes curved, tip broadly rounded, basal cell narrowing and subtruncate.
