Description
Mastotermes darwiniensis is a very destructive termite and an economically important insect pest in northern Australia. Estimates indicate that if control measures were not applied, this termite would cost the horticultural industry in excess of $10 million per year in the NT alone.
Attacks wood including living and dead trees, other wood products such as building material and even crops (such as sugarcane)
