Adult body length c. 2.5-3mm, body flat, slender, parallell sided, body colour light brown; antennae are short and with a 5 segmented club with the final segment narrower than the preceeding segment.

Note: Adult may be confused with females of Gnatocerus but can be separated as follows:

Latheticus: Length of head from clypeus to eyes much greater than than half the distance between eyes; antennae short, less than distance between eyes.

Gnatocerus: Length of head from clypeus to eyes not greater than than half the distance between eyes; antennae more than 1.5 x distance between eyes.
