Adult body length is 6 to 7 mm (female usually larger than the male); female eyes relatively well separated, male eyes almost touch; thorax has four narrow black stripes, wings with sharp upward bend in the fourth longitudinal wing vein; abdomen is gray or yellowish with dark midline and irregular dark markings on the sides; underside of the male is yellowish.
