Colonies (MEA) expanding, whitish. Sporangiophores with 1-3 together (occasionally more), brownish, up to 2 mm high and 20 µm wide; rhizoids well developed, profusely branched. Sporangia black, spherical, up to 275 µm diam; columellae conical, up to 140 µm high. Sporangiospores angular-spherical to ellipsoidal, up to 13 µm in length, striate. Chlamydospores absent. Zygospores black, warted, up to 200 µm diam, between unequal suspensors. Heterothallic. Description taken from Hoog (2000).
